In support of the broader evolution of the Canada Revenue Agency Headquarters at 875 Heron Road, TRACE architectures acted as Prime Consultant for a sustainability study, to explore opportunities to enhance the energy efficiency and building system performance of this multi-building complex. Completed in 1970, the complex is a Recognized Federal Heritage Building, reflecting its modest but identifiable historic value. A notable challenge associated with the largest building within the complex was the extensive and continuous use of the cast-in-place concrete, and the entire complex acting as a thermal bridge to the interior, due to the concrete assemblies.
