TRACE architectures is a collaborative architectural and research studio that enjoys exploring existing places, to contribute positively to their evolution.
Introduction
Building on our experience since the 1980s, we are continuously exploring our innate curiosity and interest in evolving places in positive ways. Speaking to our origins as a heritage conservation focused studio, we bring this attentive mindset to our broader portfolio. This approach provides opportunities for varied solutions that speak specifically to context, in order to meet project-specific goals.
We look at the value of places regardless of institutional recognition, tangible, or intangible. By taking such an approach, our team’s decades of varied experience, allows us to understand that a place, be it its past, present, or future, is not stagnant and requires a unique sensitivity to achieve balanced solutions.

Identity
Building on the foundation of our 35+ year history, we have evolved our identity to reflect our collective approach to architectures and research. This collaborative sensibility extends to the creation of this identity, an exercise that the team helped create. This has resulted in a name and identity that is grounded in what and how we work. This new identity intentionally allows all team members to take ownership in the practice as it evolves. Mission, Vision & Values
Underpinning our progression into TRACE architectures, we first rewrote our Mission, Vision and Values, and, like a building, built our identity on a strong foundation. Our mission is to contribute positively and passionately to the regeneration of places. We aim to achieve this by elevating our quality of experience, improving our performance and promoting resource conservation, using an intentional and interconnected approach.
Team
Our team is at the core of TRACE architectures and influences how we develop solutions. While there is a general alignment for an approach and an interest in influencing how places evolve, the TRACE team values people with different experiences and training, allowing us to investigate from broader perspectives. We believe that the best solutions come from lots of places and the people that have experienced them.
