East Block Rehabilitation - Phase 1
In support of the DFS-A49 team, acting as part of the conservation team, TRACE played an important role throughout the project, and particularly during the construction administration phase of the project. The team also led the multi-year screening and localized repair campaigns within the 1867 original portion of the building.
Visitor's Welcome Centre
Continuing to build on TRACE’s collaborative relationship with DFS of Montréal, the team provided construction administration support to the conservation team, during the rehabilitation of the west perimeter wall.
Vaux Wall
Calvert Vaux designed the historic front landscape of Parliament as a stage set for viewing the Centre, East, and West Blocks, and to mediate the grade differences to Centre Block and the Peace Tower. These heritage structures required restoration and rehabilitation, and a large underground service room below the assembly was designed for utility, security, and communications. Mark Thompson Brandt, Partner in our predecessor firm TBA was involved in technical, administration, and site review aspects of the restoration program for PWGSC’s Parliamentary Precinct Directorate.
