OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS: Celebrating Ontario’s Embodied Carbon Leaders

The Ontario Embodied Carbon Awards was established to celebrate the achievements of low embodied carbon projects in Ontario. This awards program was crafted to inspire creativity and empower project teams to prioritize the reduction of embodied carbon emissions.

CLF Toronto and CLF Ottawa are local hubs of the Carbon Leadership Forum (CLF, previously the Embodied Carbon Network).

They are connected to the larger global network of the Carbon Leadership Forum, which brings together 5000+ professionals from 2500+ companies, 75+ countries, and 1000+ cities around the world, forming a global online CLF community.

The Zero Net Carbon Collaboration for Existing & Historic Buildings (ZNCC) was co-founded by TRACE’s Mark Thompson Brandt in 2017 and has since involved many TRACE staff. The ZNCC has worked to have all groups across North America who are working to reduce embodied carbon collaborate together, to increase the uptake and to scale up across the building industry at a needed, rapid rate. The ZNCC is a contributor to the CLF, which is based in Seattle at the U of Washington. This year, Brandt has been asked to be a judge for the inaugural Ontario Embodied Carbon Awards program.
